Mothers Day: celebrations around the world

The Mother's Day is celebrated around the world to celebrate the lives of these people so special, but the festival date is not the same in all countries.

In most places, the set date always occurs on the second Sunday of May. The celebration began in the United States in the early twentieth century and arrived in Brazil in 1932, and since parties and tributes to mothers are held, It is the second most profitable time to trade, behind only Christmas.

Elsewhere, the dates may be very different, as the celebration takes place according to the culture of each country. Know when is celebrated Mother's Day in countries around the world:

30Th day of Shevat (approximately in February): Israel - also celebrated as the Day of the Family, from a decade of 1950 commemorates the date of the death of activist Henrietta Szold, that helped protect Jewish children at the time of the Holocaust.

Last day of the month Baishakh (between April and May): Nepal - are carried out offerings and mothers dive in the waters of the lakes of Mata Tirtha Village, for a festival honors, Eyes Tirtha Aunsi.

Last Sunday in May: France - It usually occurs on that date, but can be moved to the first Sunday in June the event coincides with the day of Pentecost.

Rain End of season (between October and November): Ethiopia - The celebration of the "Antrosht" takes place for two to three days, with decoration in homes, a great meal with family and a tribute dance.

2 Sundays before Christmas: Serbia - The celebration takes place with a ritual, in which mothers are tied and can only be released after offering any gift to your children. The Children's Day and Father's Day occur in a similar way, a Sunday before and after, respectively.

Day 20 the month Jumada al-thani, sixth month of the Islamic year: Will - The celebration recalls the traditional concept of family, celebrating the anniversary of Fatimah, Prophet Muhammad's daughter. It occurs from the Iranian Revolution.

21 March: countries Middle East - Commemoration held on the first day of spring, since 1956 in Egypt.

8 May: South Korea - Mother's Day is celebrated with Father's Day, to celebrate motherhood.

27 May: Bolivia - Commemoration of the Battle of La Coronilla, in which a group of women fought the Spanish Army for independence.

30 May: Nicaragua - Stated in the decade of 1940 by president General Anastasio Somoza as a tribute to the anniversary of his stepmother.

12 of August: Thailand - Queen Sirikit's Birthday Kitiyakara, considered the mother of all Thai. It occurs from 1970.

8 from December: Panama - Associated with religious date feast of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception. It occurs from 1930.

22 from December: Indonesia - Celebration of the opening of the first Indonesian Women Congress, what happened 1928 and sought to improve the conditions of women in the country.

 

The date is also celebrated in some countries of Eastern Europe and Asia in the International Women's Day, in 8 March. Already in the countries of the UK, celebrated on the 4th Sunday of Lent.
