In the human body, water is the main constituent, from 70% a 75% of water. Este percentual no organismo diminui com a idade:
0 a 2 anos – 75% a 80%
5 a 10 anos – 65% a 70%
15 a 20 anos – 60% a 63%
40 a 60 anos – 50% a 58%
Perdemos por dia em condições normais 0,4 litros com a respiração, 1,2 litros com a urina, 0,6 litros com a transpiração, 0,1 a 0,3 litros com a evacuação. Perdemos aproximadamente 2,5 litros de água diariamente.
Precisamos repor no dia 1,5 a 2,0 litros bebendo água e 1,0 litro ingerindo alimentos.
Por meio da água os nutrientes, as moléculas e as demais substâncias orgânicas são transportadas pelo corpo. A água auxilia a manutenção da temperatura corporal. A pele adquire um aspecto saudável quando bebemos água regularmente.
Para uma re-hidratação perfeita devemos tomar água pura, não sucos,refrigerantes, chás, etc. A ingestão de outros líquidos poderá sobrecarregar o organismo em vez de contribuir para a sua purificação e hidratação saudável. Para manter essa hidratação do nosso corpo são necessários, no minimum, 8 copos de água por dia (near 2 litros).
